Since the launch of the award-winning 'Alpha' CD player in the late 1980's, Arcam as a whole have become synonymous with quality, dedication and passion in all things HiFi. The FMJ range is Arcam's high end separates range, offering audiophile quality performance, sleek looks, unrivalled build and great value.

The FMJ CD17 is Arcam's 'budget' CD player in the FMJ range however the term may be a little misleading. Usually, 'budget' is associated with inferior products made up of inferior components. This is NOT the case for the CD17. The CD17 offers astonishing musical reproduction from CDs. The all important digital to analogue conversion is carried out by the very latest Wolfson 8741 DAC driven by an extremely accurate digital clock and audiophile grade supporting components. This allows for an accurate and realistic reproduction of music CD's that, when connected to a good quality amp, will sound almost as if the artist is performing in your listening room.

Electromagnetic interference (EMI), which would normally mask fine details in similar players, is dramatically reduced using Arcam's proprietary "Mask of Silence" technology. The use of "Stealth Mat" (unique metal fibre matting) further diffuses EMI to help reproduce every nuance of each recording.
