The Arcam Solo Neo is the new and improved version of the classic and very successful 'Solo Music' system. With superb sound quality delivered from a combination of its high precision CD player and highly developed pre/power amplification stages, coupled with the Neo's built-in WiFi to allow you to connect the Neo to your home network, the Solo Neo is an all-in-one masterpiece from Arcam.
The Solo Neo challenges your preconceptions of what an all-in-one system should look, feel and sound like. With build quality at such a high level, the Arcam Neo benefits from using design features found on the company's prestigious FMJ range which aims to reduce vibration thereby improving the accuracy of data picked up from a CD. These features result in the Neo producing an immensely accurate reproduction of music with a 'nothing added, nothing taken away' sound. To re-define the all-in-one system, Arcam have had to present a level of sound quality never before heard from such a system. The original Solo did this, and it's great to see that the Neo offers this same kind of sound quality but with added features and at roughly the same price.
With built in WiFi, (together with an Ethernet port for wired connection), the Arcam Neo allows you to access Internet radio or stream music from a personal computer or NAS drive, when connected to your home network. To keep the front fascia looking clean and stylish on the Neo the USB port has been mounted on the back, allowing you to play music stored on a USB memory stick device on the Neo, whilst the duplex RS232 connector offers playback and control of iPods via the optional irDock.
With a proper 2 x 50wpc power output on the Neo, the Arcam Neo stereo music system can drive a wide array of speakers, from small Arcam Muso stereo bookshelf speakers to floorstanding cabinets such as the Monitor Audio RX6, Kef Q500 and Tannoy DC6T. Combined with the Neo's CD playback, DAB/AM/FM tuners and network capabilities, Arcam have once again redefined the all-in-one HiFi system.
