Sony VPL-VW50 "Pearl". "It's a bit big!" we thought as we manoeuvred the VW50 into our demo room here in Lancashire. But the lustrously finished Sony really does look the part. Smooth curves and well-proportioned design with the lens in the centre make it one of those products sometimes dealers just like to look at. A bit like furniture, or an interesting ornament or artwork the VPL VW50 has an aesthetic value all of it's own. It's also a shockingly good projector, which helps justify its £4000 price tag. (Or £2699.99 for the discerning projector buyers that take advantage of our superb service and pricing!).
Sony's latest projector is a true 1080p design based on LCoS technology. The Pearl produces a sumptuous picture with an exceptional colour balance and great black levels that promotes a rare and very 'natural' kind of quality in the picture. Combine this with the Sony VPLVW50's virtually non-existent pixel structure and you have a high-end projector of the most rounded type, selling for eminently reasonable money. Everything about the Sony 'Pearl' makes sense; -looks and picture quality, build and price. The Sony Pearl is on demonstration right now in our Lancashire showroom.
