The JVC DLA-HD990 is the ultimate connoisseurs projector. With an image capable of captivating even the keenest set of eyes, the HD990 brings movies to life and brings you closer to the true cinema experience than ever before.

The JVC HD990 uses D-ILA technology-a technology that does not rely upon a colour wheel or an iris to produce the image. The DLAHD990 is capable of achieving astonishing black level and contrast. The quoted 70,000:1 contrast ratio really shows, with the HD990 producing some of the deepest black levels we've ever seen in our demo room. It's also a bright projector, (despite its seemingly low lumens rating), delivering a punchy and vibrant image comparable to projectors costing much, much more. On lesser projectors, shadows and dark areas of the picture can tend to loose detail in the pursuit of black levels. This couldn't be further from the case with the HD990, which maintains vast amounts of detail in even the darkest of scenes.

The JVC DLA-HD990 projector features full 3D colour management allowing you (or a professional calibrator) to tweak the projector as close to perfection as possible. The pre-set THX picture mode produces exceptional images even out of the box. After all, THX would not put their stamp of approval on anything of sub-par quality. The HD990 makes use of high-end video processing technologies and fine quality components to ensure a detailed, accurate and clean image is produced. Even SD material looks incredible; it looks close to Blu-ray playback on entry-level projectors.

The JVC DLAHD990 boasts the same lens shift feature and huge amounts of zoom that make its siblings, the HD550 and HD950 so user-friendly. Positioning is stress-free and you'll be up and running in no time, enjoying your favourite films of the big screen. The HD990 is also whisper quiet at just 19db, ideal if positioned close to the seating area.
