Monitor Audio BX2 Bookshelf Speakers. The Monitor Audio BX2 bookshelf speakers are one of the last bastion of quality large bookshelf. Monitor Audio set themselves a goal with the BX2 speaker. This was to make the BX2's achieve a level of audio perfection that will enrich the listeners whole experience.
Monitor Audio have achieved this with the BX2 speakers by further improving the treble with a brand new Monitor Audio bronze tweet. Add the all new tweeter together the an all new crossover board and you almost have the complete new Monitor Audio BX2 bookshelf speaker.
Monitor Audio have also improved upon the range of the bronze driver enabling the BX2 speakers to reach a depth that was unachievable with the older bronze bookshelf speakers. Put this together with and the new tweeter and crossover board plus some other nice little touches and you have the complete new Monitor Audio Bronze BX2 Bookshelf speakers.
So what are they like to live with. Well the BX2 are completely magnetically shielded so you have no worries in playing then near other electrical components as they will not interfere in any way. Monitor Audio have also added a lovely touch with the BX2's by adding magnetic grills which pop into their position when required.
The binding posted and shaped spades which allow for single ended or bi-wiring and are class leading within BX2 speakers classification. They will also take either spade, banana plugs or just using the cable in is simplest form.
Adding any high quality 79 strand cabling will unlock the performance levels of the Monitor Audio BX2 Speakers and we have found that they work best with cabling like the QED original which is a simple copper based cable all be it very refined copper cabling.
To fine the perfect amplification we have found that the BX2 Speakers are at home with a very wide range of electrical components. As the Monitor Audio BX2 speakers are very efficient they will make system like the Denon DM39 deliver audio sounds which should be void at it's level.
Take the BX2 bookshelf speakers up another level and pair them with the Arcam Solo Mini and you really start to hear the true musical ability of these Monitor Audio bookshelf speakers with the all new tweeter bring an exquisite level of clarity which never sounds harsh or noisy.
The BX2 also lap up the exceptional power resources within the Arcam solo mini. With even more bass which is controlled without trying to hard. Again the midrange of the BX2 delivers something which is missing in its classification and once you have heard then you fully understand why they are one of the UK’s favourite bookshelf speakers.
How do the Monitor Audio BX2 Bookshelf speakers perform with separate. As you would expect the BX2 deliver serious drive when placed with other musical produces which offer the same levels of performance.
To find these we have to look toward the Marantz CD6004 plus PM6004 for a perfect musical pairing. For some reason some systems always seem to work better together and this combination is one of the best we have heard with the Monitor Audio BX2 speakers only bettered by their larger brothers the BX5 floorstanders.
The Marantz and Monitor Audio combination just oozes musical presence. It seems to flow from within letting you the listener just enjoy a musical experience that will keep you hooked for many years to come.
So you can see that we really enjoy what the Monitor Audio BX2 Speaker do, and why not. They produce musical sounds which other manufactures can only dream of.
