Sim2 are world renowned for producing high-end, videophile quality DLP projectors, aimed at home cinema enthusiasts who require only the finest image quality. The Domino D80 is Sim2's entry level 1080p projector, but don't let the 'entry level' tag fool you into thinking Sim2 have cut corners. The Domino D80 offers 1920x1080p full-HD resolution, incredible black levels and black detail, depth and realism that will bring movies to life. The 160w lamp allows for a very bright image, even on relatively larger images, where other DLP's would normally start to look washed out. We used the D80 on our 94" Beamax M-Silver screen in our demo room and the image retained its punch, even when we opened the blinds and let a small ammount of ambient light into the room. The colours on the Sim2 D80e are spot on, even straight out of the box. Transformers, even on standard definition DVD upscaled to 1080p looks simply breathtaking, with metallic objects looking as metallic and shiny as you could ever imagine. But it was the Sim2 D80's black levels that impressed us most. This is down to the 4000:1 contrast ratio. The age old test of placing your hand in front of the screen and seeing the difference in black level between the black bars and your shadow revealed one of the closest comparisons we have seen to date. However the D80e still retains its brightness.

The D80e's vertical lens shift is a handy feature, a feature which some DLP projectors lack, making them a little difficult to set up. The D80 may be a tall projector but it has style.
