The Sim2 HT380 DLP projector has to be seen to be believed. It you think D-ILA projectors produce great blacks than the HT380 will blow you away. The HT380's full-HD 1080p resolution allows you to view movies in the highest resolution available today. However resolution isn't everything. A projector needs a good contrast, high brightness and high quality optics to leave you breathless. The Sim2 Grand Cinema HT380 ticks all the right boxes. Firstly, the black levels are astonishing thanks to the 5000:1 contrast ratio. Black detail is not compromised-there is still plenty of definition in the shadow areas. On some lesser, inferior projectors, black levels are achieved at the expense of the brightness of the image, however the Sim2 HT380's 160w lamp is capable of producing an incredibly bright image without loosing black levels resulting in a punchy and exciting image. The Sim2 HT380 would even perform well on larger screens such as 106" or even 120" diagonal, where other projectors would start to look washed out.

High definition is all about the sharpness and detail of the image and when it comes to this, the Sim2 HT380 won't let you down. Upscaled standard definition looks close to Sky HD quality images but it is when you run a full HD, 1080p source through the HT380 via the HDMI input that you realise why other brands aspire to be like Sim2. The HT380 is capable of picking out every last bit of detail from any given scene. You may even start noticing things you wouldn't have seen before.
